playgrounds and projects

my sweet little man this morning, who has just started rolling from his back to belly!

What a gorgeous day we are having! The weatherman predicted thundershowers and 62 degrees, and this morning it was sunny and 81 degrees! The kids and I got ourselves together (once we could peel ourselves out of bed, that is! Brynlee has been sleeping until 9:30 or 10 lately! That's my girl.) and headed out to our favorite playground. Brynlee was over the moon and Mac loved the swing. I have a feeling we will be visiting there a lot this summer.

Now to completely change the subject... I am so excited to share my recent finds lately in the home decor department! I had been searching for an "M" for Mac's room and a "K" for our mantle/bookshelf for ages. I hadn't found exactly what I was looking for until recently at Urban Outfitters. They were marked at $14 each and I loved them so much I decided I would pull the trigger despite the price. However, when I went to pay the cashier informed me that they were 2 for $12!!!! I was psyched. I also walked away with this owl bank for Mac's dresser that I had my eye on for a LONG time. I was originally going to get a red one to go with his black/red/grey "theme" (gah, I don't like that word) but the red owl was just too orangey. But, they did have a cute grey little guy! Yess!

I also FINALLY put together a bulletin board for our kitchen. I had been meaning to make a new one for so long. The bulletin board was a cheap $12 one from Michaels (which I actually got for less with a 25% off entire purchase coupon). Let me tell you, it was a pain. Next time I will definitely just use a frame I love and a sheet of cork. It was hard to pop the cork board out of the frame, and then I stupidly painted the frame without sanding it. Paint + fake wood frame = major peelage. So I peeled it all off, sanded, and repainted.

Next up, a new chalkboard for the kitchen and some fun wall art for Brynlee's room!
