knock, knock

So Ryan informed me last night that a guy might stop at the house today to look at the trees next to our house that are tearing up our driveway and give us an estimate for removal. He said he would come around 10:30 this morning. Ryan said that he told the guy not to bother to knock, since Ryan wouldn't be home and for me to just hide if he did come to the door. So I tore myself out of bed at 10 this morning (BAD) and forced myself to get to work. I kept an eye out for the guy, tying to get stuff done in the meantime. 10:30 passed and I figured I was safe. Around 11, I was standing at the kitchen table, folding clothes and chatting on the phone with my mom when I hear a HUGE rap on the door, which is no more than 4 feet away from me. I instantly flattened myself onto the kitchen floor and army crawled under the kitchen table, all the while whispering to my mom on the phone, "Oh crap! Someone's here!" I'm sure she thought I was getting robbed or something. Now, normally I wouldn't be so shy in answering the door at my own house, but I had just gotten up, was in sweatpants and a tank top, hair disheveled, didn't even have my contacts OR glasses on so I couldn't see much of anything, and my toothbrush was simply a memory from last night. I was NOT going to show my face. So as I crouched under the table, he proceeded to wait like 2 minutes and knock loudly AGAIN. I waited another few minutes, then poked my head out from under the table and peeked out the window, all the while my mom is laughing hysterically on the other end of the phone. He was right there outside the window! AHHH!!!! I popped back under the table and waited again. I could see out the door from the hiding spot, and I finally saw him walk back up the driveway to his car. I cautiously stood up and checked out the front window and HE WAS STILL THERE! I'm positive he saw me at least once through this whole ordeal. Moral of the story is PUT SOME CLOTHES ON in the morning especially if there is even a tiny chance someone might be stopping by. That, or just stay in bed all day!

  6. That was hilarious!!! For some reason when people ring the door bell I hide and make Joel get it...I don't know why. If its someone I know they don't come to the front door, they just come in through the garage. HAHA great story!

  7. You are so funny!

How bad is it that I probably look just that great every morning. And I LEAVE the house like that. Wow. I am so pathetic.

  10. I'd first like to see a pic of the glasses. I really hope they are the same pair you wore in 5th grade.

What would even have been funnier, is if Ryan was the one at the door and finally busted in and took a picture of you hiding under the table. That in itself would be worth some serious dough.

  11. Hahaha, it usually happens to me in the evenings. I have my pajamas on usually before 8pm and there have been many nights, where I just jump in bed and let whoever it is go away!!
