tagged: think different

I've been stressing about and thinking about this tag all day. Lindsey tagged me to consider thinking differently about something in my life. I couldn't think of anything... I dug and dug and even just now wrote a whole blog about something I thought I could change my thinking about... but I sounded like a psycho and I deleted the whole thing, and now here we are. This is about all I can muster:I hate these cars. Sorry if you have one, but I hate them. I hate Saturns. I think they are ugly and I just hate them. Guess who loves them? My needing-a-better-gas-mileage-car husband, that's who. Guess who really wants one and has to give up THIS for a car that gets better gas mileage for his new job?! I guess I don't have to tell you. So here's what I'll do. I will TRY to think differently about these cars AND Ryan I will support your decision in whatever car you choose, even if it is really ugly. And even if it is named after a planet.

  1. haha. My first car was a Saturn. I bought it because is was "cute" for school and because I could pay cash for it. I had it until about a year into marriage only to discover my husband HATED it. He felt the same way you do, but it did get great gas mileage! Good luck with the car search!

  2. Oh my gosh, part of my huge struggle with this thinking differently thing was I kept writing about personal things I need to change and then would delete because it was just too much. I'm glad you finally found something! Sorry to stress you out.

My mom got a brand new saturn in 1994. She loved it. She actually just got a new Saturn again last year and gave us her old one. She mostly gave it to us because we had that gas guzzling Ford truck We used the saturn as a commuter car for a few months and then sold it once we sold our Ford.

I don't really know where I stand as far as Saturn's go. I mean they aren't an egg shaped Geo, but they aren't a BMW either.

  3. I think the Saturn is kinda cute! And good gas mileage is always a total plus! I am in the market for a new car right now and I am dreading the treks to car dealerships! My Mom sort of has the best attitude when it comes to cars... if you get from point A to Point B with the least amount of gas or trouble, that is a good thing!

  4. I gotta agree...I think Saturns are ugly. Maybe it's not ugly, just boring. No, the first few years were basically a dry heave on wheels. There's only one Saturn that is cool, and that is the Sky. I still wouldn't drive it, because under the hood, it's still a Saturn.

  5. I'm with Spam, they're boring. Good gas milage usually means boring though, doesn't it? Like food that's good for you. Usually boring. Sigh.

I have to think differently too soon...this is a meme I really have to think about!

  6. JJ and I love the Little Gym too.. it is SSOOO nice in the winter and I think it has really helped make JJ a super socialable child. He will be graduating to beasts next week, but I am bummed because I liek the name "bird" better than "beast." Oh well.. he is still a little young for the older class, but I rather have him be in the older class than the younger class.

  7. Hey, I too am not a huge Saturn fan, but there are other cars I like even less. Hahaha, isn't it horrible when I spouse totally likes/wants something we hate?? Good luck with "thinking differently",:).

  8. I drove a Pontiac in highschool (and if I'm not mistaken- they are made by the same people who make Saturns. So basically the same car)and although it did the job (gets you from point A to point B and then to C if you want) it went ka-put on me when it reached 100k miles. I wasn't a huge fan. I'm sure the newer models have a better engine and I must admit- I like the brand new Saturn body styles.
    Good luck with this!
